  • I want to choose the best insurance company for my international travel and international medical insurance. How do I know Trawick International insurance policies are reliable?

    As for reliability, Trawick's insurance plans are underwritten by several different financially stable companies. AM Best is the insurance industry authority on insurance company financial stability, Trawick International's travel insurance plans are underwritten by GBG Insurance Limited. They rate GBG Insurance Limited "B++". Some of Trawick's domestic travel and student medical insurance policies are underwritten by Aetna. AM Best gives Aetna an "A". GBG Insurance Limited, Aetna and Trawick are "dedicated to helping people achieve health and financial security by providing easy access to safe, cost-effective, high-quality health care".




    When will my coverage become effective?

    Trawick International’s travel and medical insurance policies can begin within 24 hours. The earliest effective date is "tomorrow".




    Do I need travel insurance if I have a Medicare supplement?

    Probably. Medigap Plans C, D, E, F, G, H, I, and J pay 80% of the billed charges for certain medically-necessary emergency care outside the U.S. after you meet a $250 deductible for the year. The deductible for Plans F and J is $2,000. These Medigap policies cover foreign travel emergency care if it begins during the first 60 days of your trip, and if Medicare doesn’t otherwise cover the care. Foreign travel emergency coverage with Medigap policies has a lifetime limit of $50,000. Check your Medigap plan to determine if you are covered. Medigap plans do not cover medical evacuation or repatriation.




    My travel visa requires medical and evacuation/repatriation coverage or I require a Schengen Visa letter. Does Trawick International offer the required coverage and letter?

    Yes. On the Safe Travels insurance plans Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation are covered. A link to a visa letter is included with every purchase confirmation.




    I am traveling and I am pregnant. Will your plan cover me?

    Yes, on some plans. We cover emergency medical treatment for pregnancy up to $2,500 on Safe Travels International and $1,000 on the Safe Travels USA. The plans do not cover scheduled pre natal visits or the delivery of the baby.




    I made my own travel arrangements and did not go through an agency. Can I still get medical coverage from you?

    Yes, Trawick International services clients on an individual basis, as well as through insurance agents, travel agents, missionary groups, and other entities




    What is the latest date I can purchase travel insurance?

    Trawick International Safe Travels insurance plans can be purchased any time prior to or during your trip, with effective dates as early as “tomorrow”. Trip Protection policies can be purchased any time before the trip starts however, some benefits may be more restrictive if not purchased within a specific number of days after the trip payment.




    What is the definition of a Pre-Existing Condition?

    The Pre-Existing definition varies form plan to plan. Some plans allow Pre Existing Conditions to be covered in full, others pay a lessor benefit, and others exclude the conditions completely. Check the plan brochure to find out about the plan specific definition.




    I noticed the Safe Travels Plans says it is Primary coverage. What does that mean?

    Primary means it pays an eligible claim before any other coverage you may have.




    Does Trawick offer coverage for trip interruption due to the death of a close family member - not one who is traveling on the particular trip?

    Yes, Trawick International’s travel insurance plans for international travel include a Trip Interruption Benefit. The Trip Interruption Benefit reimburses the cost of one way economy air and/or ground transportation ticket if your Trip is interrupted because of certain unforeseen events. On Safe Travels Trip Protection, the plan can cover lost trip expenses for a family member’s death with some restrictions. (See Plan for details).




    I am traveling with a friend, life companion, domestic partner or group of people. Can we be on the same application?

    Yes. There is no limit to the number of people on one application as long as they have the same travel dates, destination and policy choices. You do not have to be a family member or live in the same house, but they must not be traveling in their home country. They must however meet the eligibility requirements for the plan.




    Are there any hidden fees or dues that I need to pay to enroll in coverage?

    No. You only pay the rate listed. There are no fees or dues to enroll. There are no fees to renew either.




    Do you limit the amount you cover for terrorism?

    No. We cover terrorism up to the policy maximum.
